Construction Recruiter

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled Construction Recruiter to support nationwide hiring efforts for traveling construction professionals. This position plays a critical role in managing the full recruitment lifecycle for field-based construction talent, partnering with operations leaders, and ensuring the company attracts and hires high-performing skilled trades professionals to support projects across multiple job sites nationwide.

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is a premier custom design-build contractor for industrial refrigeration systems, providing design, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and service in-house.

Job Role: The Construction Recruiter oversees the entire hiring process for skilled trades positions, from sourcing and screening candidates to interviewing and negotiating job offers. This role serves as the primary point of contact for candidates and supports hiring managers by aligning recruiting strategies with workforce needs. Success in this role requires strong organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced hiring environment.

Key Duties:

  • Manage the full-cycle recruiting process for traveling construction positions.
  • Screen resumes, evaluate applicants, and conduct phone, video, and in-person interviews.
  • Serve as the main contact for prospective candidates and guide them through the hiring process.
  • Partner with department managers and directors to assess hiring needs and advise on staffing solutions.
  • Post jobs across internal and external sites, social media platforms, college boards, and career networks.
  • Source candidates through direct outreach, referrals, research, online platforms, and recruitment agencies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with management, candidates, and external recruiting sources.
  • Assist with developing succession plans and addressing staffing gaps.
  • Manage the job offer process, including offer negotiation and delivery.
  • Oversee candidate background checks, reference checks, and drug screenings.
  • Prepare recruiting reports, presentations, and support ad hoc recruiting projects.
  • Maintain marketing and promotional materials for career fairs and trade shows.
  • Represent the company at recruiting events and assist in onboarding new recruiters.

Requirements:

  • Proven success in full-cycle recruiting with strong hiring outcomes.
  • Ability to manage multiple openings across departments and geographic locations.
  • Deadline-driven and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a high-volume or fast-paced recruiting environment.
  • Proficient in sourcing strategies including Boolean search, passive outreach, and leveraging social media and job boards.
  • Skilled in evaluating candidates for both technical qualifications and cultural fit.
  • Experience guiding hiring managers through the recruitment process.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruiting platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, Juicebox.ai).
  • Ability to craft compelling job descriptions and candidate outreach communications.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (seated or standing) for extended periods.
  • Occasionally may need to lift or carry items up to 25 pounds (e.g., office supplies, small equipment).

Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior recruiting experience in commercial construction, industrial construction, mechanical contracting, or EPC environments.
  • Experience in supporting nationwide or multi-site staffing operations.
