Field Electrician

Job Role: The Field Electrician is responsible for installing conduit, wiring, electrical panels, and motor control systems for refrigeration equipment. The role includes troubleshooting during installations, working with high-voltage systems, and collaborating with the field construction team. Extensive travel is required.

Key Duties:

  • Run conduit, wiring, and connect electrical components such as disconnects, switches, circuit panels, transformers, and wire terminations
  • Install and test medium/high voltage automation and motor control systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical layout and functionality issues during installations
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Maintain and diagnose issues with PLC sensors and control wiring
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and electrical testing equipment
  • Assist with general construction duties including insulation, welding, and painting

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical experience
  • Proficiency with rigid conduit bending and installation (up to 4 inches)
  • Knowledge of three-phase motor systems and 480v AC motor control circuits
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel nationwide
  • Ability to operate industrial lifts and equipment
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions with appropriate PPE
  • Must pass pre-employment and regular drug testing
  • Pre-employment background and driving record check (no DUI in the past 5 years)
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise)
  • Must have the physical stamina to perform repetitive motions and remain on feet for most of the shift
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools accurately and safely

Preferences:

  • Experience with PLC installation and troubleshooting
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and field problem-solving skills
