Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking to place full-time Refrigeration Technician Apprentices. This position would be a part of our Service department and would be responsible for assisting with the repair, maintenance, & support of industrial refrigeration equipment for our accounts. This position will involve shadowing senior refrigeration technicians and is a great opportunity to learn the trade and gain hands-on experience directly in the field. This position will require heavy travel as you are expected to work on a rotational schedule that will have you away from home for 10 days at a time and home for 4 days before heading back out. Advancement opportunities into full field service technicians are available for ambitious candidates.

About the Position:

Key Duties:

  • Assist with refrigeration repair and maintenance support to industrial accounts in food and beverage and refrigerated storage equipment ranging from 100 HP to 5,000 HP
  • Partner with a senior refrigeration technician to clean coils, condensers, and other equipment as required while learning their functions with hands-on training
  • Gain working knowledge of screw and reciprocal compressors, electrical troubleshooting of all common types of ammonia central systems, & control/alarm systems to perform inspections and preventative maintenance as required
  • Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures and governing requirements
  • Gain knowledge of controls and electrical systems (high and low voltage)
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisors

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate or have GED, HVAC tech school preferred
  • Universal EPA certification OR ability to obtain within 90 days is preferred
  • RETA 1&2 certification preferred
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and pass a fit test

  • Position requires a pre-employment drug screening, felony screening, and motor vehicle record screening
