Refrigeration Recruiting Services is currently seeking a qualified, experienced Electrical Controls Technician. This position will be a part of our service team, and the ideal candidate will have a background heavy in PLC and electrical controls experience. About the Position:

Key Duties:

  • Wiring, hook-up disconnects, switches, push buttons, circuit panels, breakers, suppressers, transformers
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC sensors
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems on all refrigeration equipment
  • Responsible for refrigeration repair and maintenance support to industrial accounts in food and beverage and refrigerated storage equipment ranging from 100 HP to 5,000 HP
  • Use working knowledge of screw and reciprocal compressors, electrical troubleshooting all common types of ammonia central systems, & control/alarm systems to perform inspections and preventative maintenance as required
  • Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures and governing requirements
  • Knowledge of controls and electric (high and low voltage)

Requirements:

  • Prefer 3-5+ years’ experience in an industrial setting
  • Universal EPA certification OR ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Must have knowledge of three-phase motors
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code
  • Excellent mechanical skills required
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and pass a fit test
  • Motor alignment experience a plus
  • Capable of working alone up to 12 hours carrying out assigned tasks
  • Extensive Nationwide travel required (typical tour is from the Tuesday of the 1st week to the Thursday of the 2nd week, with 12 hour days)
  • Must have valid driver’s license, capable of driving up to 10 hours, and able to operate industrial lifts
  • Ability to see and hear industrial equipment as it moves around the jobsite
  • Capable of lifting 75lbs frequently during the day
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, work at heights, and climb ladders throughout the day
  • Requires working in very hot (above 100F) or very cold (below 10F) temperatures and the ability to wear all required safety PPE in these conditions
  • Position requires pre-employment background check and drug screening.  If you have had a DUI in the last 5 years, you will not be hired.
