Innovative Refrigeration Systems Inc. in Lyndhurst, Virginia is now hiring Masons. The ideal candidate will have a desire to work in the construction industry and perform basic masonry and general construction skills. This position is intended to work through summer of 2020 with the potential for additional work beyond the summer. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with masonry work and a strong work ethic.

About the Position:

• Weekly pay
• Spring/Summer seasonal – Position is available February-August (with potential for additional projects)

Key Duties:

• Prepares surfaces prior to beginning work.
• Fabricates, alters, repairs, and maintains structures or surfaces 
• Lays blocks or bricks following blueprints, plans, or drawings.
• Determines work requirements and sequence of masonry/tile assignments through review of work orders, plans, or drawings.
• Lays out work using chalk lines, plumb bobs, tapes, squares, and levels.
• Mixes cement using hoes, cement-mixing equipment, and/or hand tools.
• Cuts or breaks bricks and concrete using hammers, powered abrasive saws, paving breakers, drills, and/or hand tools.
• Molds expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
• Operates equipment
• Other work as required

Requirements:

• Must be a high school graduate or have GED.
• Previous masonry experience.
• Disciplined work ethic, accountability, and follow-through.
• Ability to work alone without constant supervision.
• Must be comfortable in inclement weather.
• Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs frequently throughout the day.
• Ability to supply your own hand tools.
• Ability to travel to different job sites around Augusta County.
