We are seeking a Structural Welder Foreman at our facility in Lyndhurst, VA. This is a manufacturing position that is responsible for the fabrication and welding of structural aspects of a refrigeration system. This position will provide pre-fabrication to support our field construction team.
Experience Required: 5+ Years
Shift: 1st
Schedule: M-F, every other Saturday
Key Duties:
- Work closely with the manufacturing leadership team to ensure project completion and maintain high levels of quality control, safety, and efficiency for assigned staff
- Weld structural components such as skid frames, penthouse frames, dispersion tanks, condenser platforms, and pipe stands
- Weld other critical structural components of the following: Compressors, vessels, evaporators, oil separators, and various pieces of pre-fab
- Manage team of welders to do all above assigned tasks
- Perform load rigging, torch cutting, and leveling with use of measurement tools
- Operate grinder and wire wheel
- Other duties as needed in the shop
Requirements:
- Experienced structural welder with 5+ years’ experience
- Management experience required, 2-5+ years’
- Must be able to pass a 3G Stick Weld test (tested on ¼” plate, 37.5-degree bevel, open root, uphill progression) and Stainless Steel plate test
- Ability to climb 40-foot extension ladders and work on all types of ladders
- Ability to operate scissor lifts, fork trucks, boom lifts, lulls and other industrial equipment safely
- Must be able to work at heights in a safety harness
- Requires working in a shop that can get very hot or very cold. Must have the ability to wear all required safety PPE in these conditions.
- Position requires pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Must be willing to help the shop team out in the following areas: insulation, electrical, and painting
- Should be familiar with rigging, torch cutting, grinder & wire wheel operation, leveling, and use of measurement tools
- This position is a safety sensitive position and will require pre-employment and regular drug testing
