We are seeking an energetic, results-oriented Sales Development Specialist in Lyndhurst, Va. The Sales Development Specialist will support our account executives and assist in the growth of our customer base by prospecting leads, handling quotes for house accounts, assisting with preparing pricing packages, assisting the customer support/success team, and other sales administrative functions. This role is a trainee position for our sales team and the goal is to develop this role into an account executive within 1 year to bring in new business.

This is an entry-level position that will transition into a commissioned account executive role within 12-18 months from the time of hire with proper progression.

Training: At Innovative, we invest in our employees. As a new hire for our sales department, you will receive the training needed to succeed in your role. This will include: cold call/email training, training on our various software packages, product webinar training, and general refrigeration training.

Key Duties:

  • Generate quotes for engineering, training, & software services
  • Identify sales opportunities based on research and strategic reach-outs. Expand our presence within the industry
  • Conduct product training webinars to existing customers and as a sales tool
  • Consult with customers as a technical resource for products being sold
  • Attend trade shows and conferences to promote the company and our services
  • Follow-up on all sales opportunities and customer inquiries/concerns promptly
  • Handle general customer service with existing accounts and new business accounts, including communicating directly with the customers to facilitate services after quoting is completed
  • Cultivate and maintain customer relationships
  • Grow our customer base through various methods including prospecting/cold calling
  • Promote various services/products including training programs and software
  • Collaborate with support staff to facilitate the exchange of customers whose needs extend beyond the sales department
  • Other tasks as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of general sales experience preferred.
  • Good phone presence and ability to engage with customers over phone and through email. Professional email etiquette is a must.
  • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite, internet research, and database entry.  Knowledge of Salesforce, Hubspot, or other CRM software a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
